My Mom had her ERCP and lap chole done with Dr Madrid and the operation went very smoothly. The doctors were accommodating, kind, and shows concern and professionalism. The room we availed is the standard private; it’s comfortable and we have no complaints. The hospital is not as fancy as St Luke’s and the like but the service is good.
My go-to hospital at the moment since it's the nearest. Had a minor surgery done here c/o Dra. Victorio. Thank goodness nothing major so far. Facilities are ok. Maxicare, Intellicare and Philhealth offices inside. Courteous guards. Definitely don't expect St. Lukes and Medical city interiors. Doctor schedule: Although doctor's schedules are available on their website, some aren't updated. I find that the best way to get their current schedule is to visit my HMO provider office in VRP and ask for the hotline & local of their doc's room. If a different secretary answers (each doc has their own secretary) ask the secretary if they could give you the contact # of your doc's secretary. Med cert: This isn't part of the consultation fees covered by the HMO in VRP. I end up paying 300-500 if I want a med cert. If you are under Intellicare, the teleconsult in their Agora app covers the consultation and med cert.
I’ve been visiting VRP multiple times for check-ups and laboratory procedures, and generally the experience has been fine. However, my recent visit was disappointing—I waited two hours for a doctor to arrive. While I understand delays can happen, it would be very helpful if patients were informed about the actual start time of consultations. Respecting patients’ time is basic etiquette, and clear communication would make a big difference.
I appreciate their doctors and specialists, but this hospital’s Emergency Room experience was extremely disappointing. Imagine suffering from a severe migraine, nausea, and dehydration, only to be left sitting in a corner waiting for hours for a doctor or nurse to attend to you or even administer medication. On January 1, 2026, I was rushed to the ER due to intense headache and continuous vomiting. I informed the staff that I have systemic lupus and requested to be transferred to a bed because my head was spinning. I was told there were no beds available and that the remaining vacant beds were reserved for pediatric patients. I was made to sit for hours, repeatedly going back and forth to the restroom to vomit. Eventually, I chose to sign a waiver and leave the ER because there was no way I would pay to be treated that way. What made the situation more frustrating was seeing other patients allowed to use beds in the pediatric area. I understand that some patients may have more critical cases, but this is a private hospital. Basic comfort, timely assessment, and proper triage should still be expected. I strongly suggest improving your facilities, especially the Emergency Room. Patients are charged private hospital fees, yet the level of care and accommodation felt no different from that of an overcrowded public hospital.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe this feedback is necessary in hopes of improvement. 1. Lack of Information on Doctor Schedules One major issue is the hospital’s poor communication regarding on-duty doctors to their respective specializations. There is no accessible or reliable way for patients to know when a specific doctor is available. This results in a frustrating experience. Patients come early thinking they'll be accommodated promptly, only to find out that the doctor hasn't arrived yet or won’t be available at all that day. It’s a waste of time and effort, especially for those traveling from a distance or with urgent concerns. 2. Unreasonable Charges Another concern is the cost of services. Even something as basic as a medical certificate comes with an additional fee, which feels excessive. Considering the already high consultation and procedure costs, this kind of nickel-and-diming does not reflect a patient-friendly or compassionate healthcare environment. Moreover, next time, kindly, make it clear that the fees for medical certificate is not included to your consultation or procedures fees. I hope VRP Medical Center addresses these concerns seriously.
